Rescue mode does NOT appear to have fsck.ext4 (executable) making recovery of ext4 impossible!!!
Due to hardware failure unrelated to Adelie, I had an install that failed to boot, because ext4 was left in an inconsistent state after an irrecoverable crash. I attempted to run fskc in rescue mode, and was unpleasantly surprised it responded with no such file
when I tried to run fsck.ext4. If it is there, it should be documented, preferably in a script that runs in recovery, so it notifies the user how to proceed. Had to boot other distribution with fsck.ext4 and recovery was successful!
If not, it really needs to be added. Along with (optionally, but recommended for greater compatibility with other OSes, ntfs-3g, hfsplus, ufs, bfs (aka befs), etc.)
If this is filed in the wrong project, apologies, feel free to move to any more appropriate heading.
