### Prerequisites
1. Obtain a copy of ["Live" Adélie Linux](https://www.adelielinux.org/download/). This is typically an ISO file.
1. Obtain either a CD-RW, DVD-RW, or USB stick of suitable capacity. This varies by type, but 1-2 GB should be sufficient.
### To Optical Media (CD/DVD)
1. Use your favorite image writing software to "burn" the ISO to disc.

#### From Linux, macOS, and most other *nix
1. Insert your USB stick.
1. Identify the name of your disk (e.g. `/dev/sdb`). You can do this several different ways; the easiest is to do `ls /dev/sd*` **before** you insert your USB stick, then again **after** and to observe the new device name. Another method is to use `fdisk -l` and read through the manufacturer/capacity listing for your USB stick.
1. Run `sudo dd if=<adelie-live>.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=1M; sync`.
1. Eject the USB disk. |
